Vancouver’s Glowbal Collection of Restaurants is planning a major expansion in the coming years, and this includes new flagship locations at Telus Garden.

According to the Vancouver Sun, Glowbal is spending millions to open three establishments at the new Telus Garden development. All three locations within the development will have their own separate grand openings in late-2015.

The establishments will include a “casual market” restaurant, a 15,000 square foot flagship restaurant with 300 indoor seats and a 150-seat patio, and a cocktail lounge.

The restaurants and lounge will feed on tourist foot traffic, the activity spurred by Telus Garden’s 5,000 employees and the growing employment elsewhere within the Central Business District.

This includes employees from the office space currently being built nearby above Nordstrom on Granville and Robson Streets, another recent proposal to build a 32-storey office tower on Seymour Street (next to Telus Garden), the redevelopment of the Canada Post block into a hotel and other mixed uses, and the anticipated major redevelopment of the Hudson’s Bay multi-storey parkade into office and hotel towers.

In addition to its new downtown Vancouver investments, Glowbal will also open two new Trattoria restaurants at West Vancouver’s Park Royal shopping centre and another at a new residential development on Kingsway and Willingdon Avenue near Metropolis at Metrotown. Both restaurants will open later this year.
