13-year-old girl suffers serious injuries after being hit by vehicle in Burnaby

A 13-year-old girl is in hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Burnaby on Friday morning, police said.

According to Burnaby RCMP, the incident took place at 8:30 am, close to the intersection of Kensington Avenue and Union Street in Burnaby.

Police said the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

At this point, police said they are still working to determine what exactly occurred, and are asking for witnesses to come forward.
