Drug overdose suspected in 14-year-old girl's death in Surrey

A 14-year-old girl is dead after a suspected drug overdose in Surrey earlier this month.

While details are still slim at this point, Surrey RCMP Cpl. Scotty Schumann told Daily Hive the incident occurred on October 6 in the 13300 block of 103A Avenue.

The investigation began after officers executed a morning search warrant on the house at 8:50 am, where they found the girl.

Schumann said one person was detained for questioning in connection with the incident, but was released without further charges.

The investigation continues.
