Gas Leak in Downtown Vancouver Forces Evacuation

Dec 19 2017, 3:38 pm

A gas leak was reported earlier this morning. This has forced the evacuation of several buildings downtown Vancouver, including the BC Supreme law courts, which is directly across from the gas leak location.

An underground gas line was hit in a construction site in the 700-block of Nelson Street, which is the new site of the Manulife Financial office tower.

Police have evacuated buildings in the 900 and 1000-block of Granville, Howe and Hornby streets. They have also evacuated  the 700 and 800-blocks of Nelson Street as a precaution.
