Even though he has missed the last three games, Conor Garland is still the Vancouver Canucks’ leading scorer.
It looks like he’ll have a shot at keeping that title for the Canucks on Wednesday night.
Garland was a full participant during Vancouver’s morning skate, prior to their matchup against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The Canucks didn’t do line rushes, according to Sportsnet 650’s Brendan Batchelor; however, Garland did retake his spot on the team’s first power-play unit.

The Canucks managed to come out of their three-game road trip with a 2-1 record while Garland was absent from the lineup. Kiefer Sherwood’s hat trick helped the Canucks eek out a 4-3 shootout win over the St. Louis Blues last Thursday, while Brock Boeser’s overtime buzzer beater lifted Vancouver to a 5-4 win over the Nashville Predators.
Garland still leads the Canucks with 11 points in 11 games this season. Elias Pettersson is second on the team in scoring, with 10 points in 14 contests.
There’s also good news on Teddy Blueger, based on the Canucks morning skate. The 31-year-old centre attended the skate in a regular jersey, as opposed to the non-contact uniform that injured players will often wear at practice. He did leave the skate early, according to Batchelor, and there’s been no update yet on whether or not he’ll play on Wednesday.
Blueger has missed all but two of Vancouver’s games this season. He was absent from the first four games of the season after suffering an injury in the preseason, before another injury against the Washington Capitals caused him to miss the team’s last eight contests.
