These COVID-19 graphs show how easily transmission can occur

As COVID-19 case numbers in BC remain high – particularly in the Fraser Health region – officials have released a series of illustrations to show how quickly and easily transmission can occur.

The graphs are all based on recent data that has been compiled by health officials and includes a wedding, a fitness class, and a workplace.

In each case, health officials note that it only took one person infected with the virus to affect numerous others.

The illustrations come after BC’s Provincial Health Officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, announced that the province is taking further actions to limit the spread of the virus and is stepping back from reopening activities.

The new prevention orders have been placed on communities in the Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health regions, with the exemptions of Hope, Central Coast Regional District, Bella Coola Valley, Sunshine Coast Regional District, Powell River, and the Howe Sound.

The regulations are in effect until November 23, at 12 pm, and affect social gatherings, travel, indoor group physical activates, and workplace safety.
