Follow Friday: @Erin_Ireland

Dec 19 2017, 12:37 pm

If you are on twitter and follow me you’ll know that Friday’s can get a little hectic with all the Follow Friday’s (#FF) I dish out. To bring back some meaning to idea from now on I will only be doing one #FF mention per week and I decided to blog it as well. If you aren’t on twitter you’re probably scratching your head right about now, just join already.

The initial #FF spotlight shines on a dear friend of mine, the lovely  Erin Ireland. You can see her good work as the host of FMA Weekly and read her amazing blog itstodie4.com.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Erin over the past few months and I decided to ask her a few questions so you too could get to know her a little bit as well.

Vancity Buzz: If you were a superhero, who would you be and why?

Erin: Spider-Man, because ‘web-shooters’ would be an even more efficient mode of transportation than my Vespa and spiders can eat their own weight in one meal, like I can. I love big portions, which result in leftovers that are often more delicious than the fresh dish.

VcB: What’s your favourite event in Vancouver?

Erin: Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards

VcB: What was your best tweet or twitter conversation ever?

Erin: Hmm, tough one. I love to laugh so always appreciate the witty or silly responses to my tweets, but I also love to pass on knowledge to others. I was thrilled to be referred to as a ‘maven’ in an article written about Vancouver’s social media scene by social media writer Conner Galway (@conner_g). And how could I not mention all the love from everyone’s favorite @VancityBuzz!?

VcB: Being an expert foodie, what’s the best place to get a burger in Vancouver?

Erin: After judging the Yaletown Best Burger Contest, I was changed by Hamilton Street Grill’s rosemary, butter, and white Stilton-infused patty. Julie of Julie & Julia said it best, ‘Is there anything better than butter? Think it over, any time you taste something that’s delicious beyond imagining and you say, ‘what’s in this?’ the answer is always going to be butter. The day there is a meteorite rushing toward Earth and we have thirty days to live, I am going to spend it eating butter…’

VcB: If you could give only one #FF shoutout, who would it be?

Erin: Vancouver Sun restaurant critic @miastainsby for her colorful, extraordinary food stories.
