It’s a sign of good things to come.
Cypress Mountain Resort saw its first snowfall of the 2016/17 season today. And while it may have been a “small dusting,” more white stuff should be on the way soon.
“We have a snowmaking window starting tomorrow,” Joffrey Koeman, Cypress Mountain’s director of sales and marketing, told Daily Hive. “We have moved four extra snow guns to our Easy Rider chair to take advantage of the window.”
The fire power of the guns can make it go “from green to white overnight,” Koeman added. “We should know a lot more tomorrow once the window gets closer.”
As for their earlier projected opening date of November 18?
“It’s possible to maybe get Easy Rider open, but it will all depend on this snowmaking window,” said Koeman. “We hope to get up and running as soon as possible.”
