FIFA World Cup tickets are indeed selling out in Canada.

With the tournament now well underway, most World Cup matches in both Vancouver and Toronto appear sold out. There are only a handful of tickets still available for select matches.

According to FIFA’s official ticket portal, every match in Vancouver and Toronto either has no tickets available or a very limited quantity. This comes after initial concerns that high ticket prices would result in empty seats.

Vancouver’s first World Cup match between Australia and TĂĽrkiye was announced as a sellout crowd, with an attendance of 52,497.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who was in attendance for the BC Place match, was boasting about it afterwards.

“Hello from Vancouver. Fantastic game here. Full house… What a passion here,” Infantino said. “Full stadiums, fantastic atmospheres, great matches, great goals. Well, this is definitely a fantastic World Cup.”

Toronto also showed up with an impressive crowd for Canada’s World Cup opener against Bosnia and Herzegovina last week, though it wasn’t quite a sellout, with a total of 43,002 fans in attendance. That is just 34 people short of Toronto Stadium’s max capacity of 43,036 during the World Cup.

Vancouver has six matches remaining, including four in the group stage: Canada vs. Qatar (June 18), New Zealand vs. Egypt (June 21), Switzerland vs. Canada (June 24), and New Zealand vs. Belgium (June 26). BC Place will also host a match in the Round of 32 (July 2) and Round of 16 (July 7).

Toronto, meanwhile, has four matches left: Germany vs. CĂ´te d’Ivoire (June 20), Croatia vs. Panama (June 23), Senegal vs. Iraq (June 26), and a Round of 32 match (July 2).
