The FIFA World Cup is coming to Canada next year, and some of the biggest names in the country’s entertainment scene will be a part of it.

Canada Soccer announced a new program highlighting many of the country’s biggest musical names on Tuesday, working together on a new album centred around next summer’s FIFA World Cup taking place in Toronto, Vancouver, and 14 other North American host cities.

Alessia Cara, Charlotte Cardin, Loud Luxury, Nelly Furtado, The Tragically Hip, and Zeds Dead are all part of the Perfect Pitch project, working under Grammy-winning producer Boi-1da.

“The energy around this project has been incredible. It’s inspiring to see so many iconic Canadian artists come together. What we’re creating isn’t just an album, it’s a cultural statement. The music represents every corner of the country, and I’m proud of how collaborative and inclusive the process has been,” Boi-1da said in a release.

The upcoming album will feature “original music, re-imagined tracks, and unique collaborations with some of Canada’s most celebrated artists,” and is set to be released ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, kicking off across North America next June.

Outside of The Tragically Hip, who have only performed together once in a special Juno Awards performance since lead singer Gord Downie’s passing in 2017, the other acts are all active members of the vibrant Canadian music scene.

And while the band might not be performing or making music formally together anymore, they’re still ambassadors of the Canadian music scene, with members Gord Sinclair, Paul Langlois, and Johnny Fay having all released solo projects in recent years.

“Music and sports both bring people together, and it’s amazing to see young athletes inspired to chase their dreams. Can’t wait to cheer for our team in 2026!” Cardin added.

Additional artists added to the album and events around it are expected to be announced in the coming months.
