FIFA reveals cheapest price for World Cup games and it’s surprisingly affordable

The first draw for 2026 FIFA World Cup tickets is a week away, and we now know the price of the cheapest tickets.
Hype is starting to grow for the World Cup, as the North American-hosted tournament will host a total of 13 matches in Canada, split between Vancouver’s BC Place and Toronto’s BMO Field. It will be the first time that Canada has ever hosted men’s World Cup matches, marking a historic moment in the country.
Demand for tickets is expected to be sky high, with FIFA selling them via a lottery system. The first lottery will be open to eligible Visa cardholders beginning Wednesday.
While a full list of prices has yet to be revealed, FIFA has announced that the cheapest group-stage tickets for World Cup matches will start at US$60 (C$82), a price point they say is an “accessible entry point to the tournament.”
“With just ten months to go until the FIFA World Cup 26 kicks off, we are excited to launch the first phase of ticket sales for the tournament,” said Heimo Schirgi, FIFA World Cup 2026 Chief Operating Officer.
“This marks a momentous milestone as we build up to this historic event, and we look forward to millions of fans joining us in North America next June.”
FIFA added that the “most exclusive” tickets for the World Cup Final, which is set to be played in New Jersey, will retail for a staggering US$6,730 (C$9,280).
How to buy World Cup tickets
Tickets will be made available to the public through three separate lotteries, beginning next week for Visa cardholders. Interested fans need to create a FIFA ID to apply for their desired lottery.
The second lottery will take place in October, with a third and final lottery scheduled for shortly after the World Cup draw on Dec. 5.
Draw winners will be assigned a specific time slot for purchasing tickets, which will include selections for all 104 World Cup matches, as well as venue- and team-specific tickets.
FIFA has made it clear that they cannot guarantee tickets will be available for purchase to successful draw winners at their designated time slot.
Following the lotteries, match tickets will go on sale to the general public sometime in 2026 and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
