Everybody knows that the secret to a good action movie is really cool guns. We would like to share with you some guns that we think are worth mentioning.

WARNING: SPOILERS

The iconic S&W 44 Magnum was introduced in 1955 and owes it’s fame to the 1971 Clint Eastwood crime film Dirty Harry. It was thought of at the time as the “Most Powerful Handgun in the World”. The now famous, revolver, was carried by Inspector “Dirty” Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood). “You better ask yourself one question: ‘Do I feel lucky?’ Well, do ya punk?”

The Glock 17 chambered in 9x19mm is widely used in films, by nameless thugs, FBI agents, and many other character roles -possibly anyone carrying a gun. In the 1993 film, The fugitive, Deputy US Marshal Samuel Gerard (Tommy Lee Jones) carries a Glock 17, which eventually gets into the hands of the man he is pursuing, Kimble (Harrison Ford). Be on the lookout for how many times you can spot a Glock being used in film.

The Desert Eagle (known for it’s firepower and chambered in .50 AE) can be seen throughout the 1999 film, The Matrix, starring Keanu Reeves. Agents including Agent Smith (Hugo Weaving) famously carry Desert Eagle pistols.

The Beretta 92FS is used in the 2003 action horror film known as Underworld. Selene (Kate Beckinsale) is seen wielding a pair of modified Beretta 92FS pistols chambered for 9x19mm. Of course, in this film they are modified to fire on full auto.

Released in 2010, the fourth film of the Resident Evil series “Afterlife” brings to light the S&W 460V. The film marked one of the earliest movie appearances of the Smith & Wesson Model 460VV. Alice (Milla Jovovich) carries a pair of the revolvers in addition to her dual shotguns. In the scene below she is seen handing off her revolvers to Chris (Wentworth Miller) and Crystal (Kacey Barnfield). This Smith and Wesson revolver is a handcannon capable of “the ring of fire”.
