Ex-Edmonton Oilers player makes surprise skating cameo with Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce

Edmonton Oilers fans probably weren’t exactly expecting to see one of their former players in a recent Travis Kelce photo dump.

But on a random Thursday night in July — a little over two years after Kelce and Taylor Swift were first linked — that’s exactly what ended up happening.

Despite Kelce and Swift being maybe the world’s most famous couple, he’d never actually posted a photo with her himself on Instagram, with the Thursday post being his “hard launch” of an already very public relationship.

Deep in the post that Kelce captioned as “adventures this offseason,” former Oilers forward Jarret Stoll was pictured alongside the duo, as was his wife, ESPN sportscaster Erin Andrews.

Multiple reports suggest that the photos could’ve been taken at the Yellowstone Club in Montana during a March visit, which lines up with the winter weather.

In the same winter outfit, Kelce and Swift are seen on skates, making it a safe assumption that they probably asked their NHL friend for guidance or even faced off against him.

Kelce and his older brother, Jason, have spoken openly of their love of hockey many times, having played the sport growing up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio.

Stoll had 59 goals and 106 assists in 286 games for the Oilers, playing parts of five seasons for the team from the 2002-03 season through 2007-08. He was also a member of the 2006 Stanley Cup Final team, suiting up in 24 contests for the team during the playoffs that year.

In the photos shared alongside Swift and Kelce, however, he’s repping a Los Angeles Kings hat, having played seven seasons for the team after leaving Edmonton.

Other ties between Swift and the Oilers

This Instagram post isn’t Swift’s first time seeing herself in the headlines regarding the Edmonton Oilers this year.

There was her and Kelce’s surprise appearance at the Stanley Cup Final, as well as an infamous photo with her and former Oilers forward Jeff Skinner during her 2013 Red Tour that recirculated throughout the playoffs.
