We caught up with spokesmodel and cosplayer Eva Skye at the DTP Auto Show last week. Check out our interview with the New Jersey native!
Would you be so kind as to tell me just a bit about yourself?
I’m American born Chinese, I can speak fluent Mandarin, I like to dance… I like meeting new people, traveling, costume design, I’m a fashion design major, and I love what I do. I started modelling in 2007
How did you get started into modelling?
I actually got into modelling from costume design, from cosplay, so it kind of just branched out from there. I never really thought of getting into it but it kind of just happened.
What was the favourite cosplay costume that you made?
The most reason one is my boa handcock from one piece, the blue one, the was a lot of work, but it came out pretty well, in my opinion.
What has been your most memorable moment in a photo shoot?
There are quite a few. I like the outdoor ones, on the beach, the very scenic ones. I did one in hawaii, we actually climbed the cliff, that was really cool, I like outdoorsy stuff like that.
Who are my style icon and mentors?
I have so many, it depends on if its for costuming or its for fashion. I really like Koda Kumi, I love her style, she’s really sexy, she’s like my goddess. And with costuming I love Alexander McQueen, he’s extremely inspiring, and very Japanese influenced.
How do you keep in shape and maintain such a perfect figure?
I try to dance, and I’m actually very health cautious, I try to watch what I eat, I try to eat not that many carbs, and I’m all about that organic stuff.
What are your hobbies?
My hobbies are what I do! Modelling, travelling, cosplaying, costume making, designing, dancing, all of that.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
mhmmmmmm so many. I love Asia, I love Japan, I just recently went to Barcelona, I just fell in love with it, it’s beautiful there.
Do you have anything coming up that we should be looking forward to?
I am actually going to Beijing, I’m actually flying out Monday night. I’ll be performing for an Autumn music festival, and the headliners will be Dash Berlin, Hardwell, and Far East Movement. So I’m going to be designing costumes, bringing performers with me, and we’re going to be performing for that music festival. I’m really excited for that. And then afterwards, from October, I might be also be appearing in Australia, possibly Melbourne and Sydney, and will also be heading off to London for another event.
Is this your first time in Vancouver?
This is my first time here! I arrived just a few hours ago, I’ve never been here, but I like it already!
And being this is an auto show, this question is a must: what is your favourite car?
I love the R8, it’s very sexy. I like Ferrari’s, I like GTR’s, I like fast cars.
