Hot weather will continue throughout the coming week but is expected to peak on Sunday, according to a special statement by Environment Canada.

The highest temperatures of the current hot spell in the Metro Vancouver region are expected today and Sunday. In the afternoons, temperatures will approach or exceed 32°C inland, away from the cooling influence of the ocean.

In Pemberton, temperatures will reach the mid to upper 30s today and tomorrow.

The warm weather will continue through Wednesday with afternoon temperatures ranging from the mid 20s to near 30°C.

Isolated thunderstorms are also possible Sunday evening as an upper disturbance moves northwards from Washington State.
