The streets of Vancouver were alive on Sunday afternoon, as yet another incredible display of FIFA World Cup fandom descended upon the city.

Ahead of their match at BC Place, fans of both New Zealand and Egypt showed up in great numbers for their respective marches to the match.

Egypt fans gathered in Jonathan Rogers Park, to the south of the stadium.

New Zealand fans, meanwhile, gathered to the north in Gastown. A large crowd filled Carrall Street, chanting and singing songs, before marching to BC Place.

Among the chants was one Australians in Vancouver made famous last week, which takes aim at Donald Trump.

It was the Egyptian fans that made most of the noise inside BC Place, as Egypt stormed back in the second half with three unanswered goals to earn its first-ever victory at the FIFA World Cup.

All three FIFA World Cup matches in Vancouver have been announced as sellouts, and the pre-match scenes have been incredible. Both Australia and Türkiye showed up in big numbers on June 13, before an unbelievable display of Canadian pride before Canada’s match on June 18.

There are four matches left for Vancouver, and just two in the group stage:

  • Wednesday, June 24: Switzerland vs. Canada (12 p.m.)
  • Friday, June 26: New Zealand vs. Belgium (8 p.m.)
  • Thursday, July 2: Round of 32 match (8 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, July 7: Round of 16 match (1 p.m.)

Wednesday’s match will decide the winner of Group B. Canada can top the group if it can get a win or a draw against the Swiss. If that happens, Canada will play in the Round of 32 at BC Place.
