The basement fire was caused by an e-bike.

In an email to Daily Hive, VFRS said the fire took place in a “detached residential home with multiple families and multiple units.”
This isn’t the first time VFRS have responded to an e-bike-related incident.
In June, a home sustained “significant damage” due to a blaze caused by an e-bike in a basement.
Another fire took place during the early morning hours of Monday at around 3:32 a.m. on the 400 block of Keefer Street.
On X, VFRS stated that the exterior “incendiary” fire had spread to a residential building and was under investigation by the VPD.
Both fires have been extinguished.
