Earth Hour 2012 Vancouver Events

Dec 19 2017, 1:32 pm

This year Earth Hour 2012 takes place Saturday, March 31, at 8:30pm Vancouver time and participation is not only easy but encouraged. All you have to do is turn off all your lights for 60 minutes. If you can turn off the television as well, that would be a bonus. This will be difficult for Canucks fans as we play the Flames on Hockey Night in Canada.

Many companies around the Lower Mainland are taking the lead and turning off the lights. Many local restaurants will be turning off the lights and hosting candle light dinners as well.

Earth Hour is a World Wildlife Fund initiative and serves as a constant reminder of how a small gesture done by many can have a great impact.

You can do lots of fun things in the dark, besides the obvious. Here are a few suggestions:

  • Plan a candlelight dinner for you and your significant
  • Play board games, by candlelight
  • Tell scary stories
  • Take a nap
  • Quiji board
  • Read a book on your tablet or the traditional way using candle light

Whatever you’re doing try to take the time out and shut off your lights. It’s only for an hour.
