Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry already has a wide reach in BC due to her calm and thoughtful demeanour when it comes to sharing the latest COVID-19 updates in the province.

And next Tuesday, Henry will be able to share information with a larger, international online audience as she takes over the social media accounts of Hollywood star Olivia Munn.

The takeover is part of a new initiative from the ONE World Campaign that has been dubbed #PassTheMic.

As part of the initiative, ONE is working with celebrities and medical experts in an effort to spread the word on the coronavirus. The one-day takeover will take place next Tuesday, June 30.

“There are some people you need to hear from right now and it isn’t me,” said Munn in a statement.

As such, Munn said she is handing over her accounts to an “expert on all things COVID-19.”

For her part, Henry has previously said that the coronavirus “has shown us that if it is anywhere, everywhere is at risk. We are a global community, and we’re all in the same storm, but we are not all in the same boat.”
