The app

RoomEasy takes the stress out of finding a new roommate in Vancouver and many other cities around the world, by redefining the room listing process. It allows you to seek out the perfect roommate; for example, someone who shares the same interests or has mutual friends with you, all from your Andriod or iPhone device.

And since Vancouver has a competitive housing market with plenty of young renters, RoomEasy felt it made sense to launch in the city, their first North-American location with a support team on the ground.

Why it’s a big deal

If you’re living in shared accommodation or renting out a room at your place, then chances are you’ll know what it’s like to experience the roommate from hell. (We’ve all got horror stories, right?) Those days are done and gone with RoomEasy.

The app does all the hard work for you. If you upload your listing in Vancouver, you can browse profiles from people in the city who are looking for a new place. And you can see a landlord or tenant’s mutual Facebook friends, making it easy to know what kind of person the individual is before you even invite them over for a viewing.

How it works

RoomEasy works like Tinder (in a way more innocent way); you can like, match, and chat with potential roommates in your city. By adding personal tags to your profile such as ‘musician’, ‘animal lover’, or ‘foodie’, the app allows you to connect with others who share the same lifestyle interests and personality traits.

All you have to do is create select your city, list your place or search listings, and browse through profiles. If you match with a potential roommate or place, you’ll receive instant messaging alerts through the RoomEasy app, then you can quickly reply while you’re on the go through the in-app chat.
