A new high-end dog lounge just opened in Vancouver

There’s a new lounge in town, and it’s not just for humans.

DogClub Social Lounge is meant to be a relaxing spot for both people and their furry friends, and it just opened last week.

While the showroom is still under construction, the lounge is good to go, and that means you can head to the 1,000 square-foot Richmond space and enjoy the cafe, TV, video games, high-speed Wi-Fi, and audio system.

Oh, and you can bring woman’s best friend along for the ride, because this space is all set for them too. For the dogs, there’s rubber floors, toys, and quality play equipment coming soon.

Owner Jason Meyer says his startup wants to change the way people socialize their dogs, and he aims to do that by providing this clean, modern, and accessible spot for human and dogs to enjoy time together.

“If the owner’s intention is to give the dog social time, then we are a cheaper and superior option because the owner gets to participate in the experience. Dog Daycares cost $40-$50 dollars per day. DogClub is as low as $5 for a 75-minute class,” says Meyer.

Right now DogClub offers specialized events like the Morning Mingle, Evening Social, and Singles Night (with age specifications) to name a few. They’ve even got a Dating With Your Dog event going down on February 20.

There are restrictions on dog size at this venue. DogClub can only accommodate dogs 30 pounds and under, so keep that in mind before you call to reserve your spot.

The cafe offers coffee, tea, and light snacks, and Meyer tells us that if this concept sticks, he’s hoping to open more locations and integrate liquor service into the mix.
