Come celebrate Halloween in Yaletown and pick up some treats for both you and your furry friend!
Tails or Treats, an event organized by PawSwap, invites dog owners to show off their pups in the spookiest costumes on Saturday, October 31, while picking up some exciting Halloween treats at the same time. This latest activity is entirely self-guided, and participants can expect sweet prizes to be awarded at participating local pet stores.
“Halloween is such a fun day that so many of us look forward to, so we wanted to create an activity where dog owners can get into the spirit together while still keeping safe,” says Melanie Englmaier, the Event Planning and Community Coordinator at PawSwap.

PawSwap is a mobile app that makes events, activities, or businesses that welcome visits with our four-legged friends more accessible to owners. The platform includes details for each location on whether or not dogs can be inside the building, on the patio or free to roam around off-leash, and it rewards points for visiting each dog-friendly place with your pup.
Starting from 10 am and onwards, participants can pick up a āTails or Treatsā goodies bag at Spoiled Paws that is valued at over $35, but all included in the event ticket price. This bag includes a variety of local goodies from brands such as Bosco and Roxyās, Herbaland Gummies, DUPIsCHAI, and more as well as some special bone-shaped tickets for owners to exchange for more surprise treats at pet stores throughout the day.

Barking Babies will be hosting the Howl-o-ween Costume Contest for owners and pups arriving at the store between 4 to 6 pm for a chance at winning the Best Costume Prize and the Best Trick Prize. A team at the local pet store will be taking a photo of your dog in their spookiest costume, and posting it on their Instagram to let Vancouver decide the winner.
Tickets are priced at $21 and can be found by visiting the Eventbrite page.
