Daniel Sedin left off top 50 NHL players list again

What is it going to take for the Sedins to get some more respect?

Intrepid reporter, Brad Fay of Sportsnet, noticed this today:

The Hockey News is a well respected publication that has been around since dinosaurs roamed the Earth. Apparently one of those dinosaurs was responsible for picking the top-50 players list.

Top-10 in scoring last season, 4th in scoring right now, yet Daniel Sedin is not one of the best 50 players in the NHL? OK then.

Essentially, the Sedins get no respect.

You would think that after 1091 NHL games, and 914 career points, Daniel Sedin would get the benefit of the doubt by now. I mean, you’d think this if you weren’t familiar with what Henrik and Daniel have had to go through their entire careers.

Stuff like this doesn’t even surprise me anymore. Something like this happens every single year.

Don’t worry about how Daniel will handle this though. The Sedins have made a career on proving people wrong. The Sedins will do what they always do: keep their mouths shut, work hard, and be great hockey players.

Daniel Sedin puts up big numbers with regularity. He won the scoring title in 2010-11. Elliotte Friedman, usually the voice of reason, thinks the Sedins will be in the Hall of Fame one day.

Astute hockey fans in Vancouver already know how good the Sedins are, it’s about time the rest of the hockey world takes notice too.
