Dalina brings boutique grocery and Italian-inspired coffee experience to Chinatown

Drawing inspiration from the daily ritual of sipping coffee and socializing, a new kind of grocery store and cafe is launching next month in Vancouver’s Chinatown. Dalina, situated at the ground level of an apartment building, will offer a boutique grocery store and a full service cafe.

Inspired by the culture of coffee drinking in Italy, Dalina will boast a full espresso bar as well as space to socialize while sipping.

Using custom-roasted beans from their own Dalina label, the cafe will boast an array of coffee options, including two exciting speciality beverages, Bicerin (espresso, dark chocolate, steamed milk) and Gianduiotto (hazelnut, milk chocolate, steamed milk). The coffee beans will also be available for purchase.

Going beyond just “a cup of coffee,” though, the team behind Dalina explain that they will have a full kitchen, creating breakfast, lunch, and dinner foods seven days a week. Think housemade foccacia, and a variety of dishes (from pasta to less carb-centric fare) using fresh, local ingredients.

With 16 seats, and more when patio season arrives, Dalina will offer a great spot for a casual bite in the area.

However, as a way to provide greater amenities to area residents, including those who dwell in the 191-unit Blue Sky by Bosa Properties tower in which Dalina is situated, the shop will serve as a micro-grocer. While there are terrific local produce and specialty shops, Dalina’s boutique-style grocery offerings will cover the basics from veggies to toilet paper.

If this one-stop-shop proves a success, Dalina’s team says they are open to expanding their market in Vancouver to include additional locations.

With a planned opening for December 3, Dalina is poised to give Chinatown and its many new visitors and residents a new option for coffee, eating, and shopping.
