Bakery brand from 'MasterChef Canada' winner to close all B.C. locations
Daan Go Cake Lab has made the unfortunate announcement that it will be closing all of its locations in B.C. after over three years of operation.
“Since opening our doors in 2023, we have had the privilege of being part of so many special moments, birthdays, anniversaries, and celebrations. Every cake ordered and every coffee shared meant so much more than you could imagine. Thank you all for the kindness and support that you have given us over the years. We are truly grateful to have been able to spend our time here with this community,” wrote the bakery on its Instagram.

Daan Go operated two locations in B.C., one in Vancouver (which has already closed) and the other in Richmond.
The bakery was started by award-winning chef Christopher Siu, best known as the season 7 winner of MasterChef Canada. The bakery currently operates numerous locations in Toronto, where it serves up whimsical baked goods (think treats shaped like plants and bowls of ramen, adorable macaroons, and more).
“We would love to see you one more time before we are gone, whether it’s to have a final pastry or to say goodbye. Thank you for welcoming us into this community and making these years so memorable,” concluded the bakery.
Many took to the comments of the post to share how much they would miss Daan Go.
“OH NOOOO, I got so many of my loved ones falling in love with your exceptionally yummy baked goods and now you guys are leaving 😭😭😭😭 So sad and so sudden… 🥺💔,” wrote one person.
“You will be missed. Thank you for your hard work. I will always remember your specialty croissants, from your regular flavours to your seasonal/festival creations. I wish you and your whole team all the best in your next endeavours,” added another.
“Oh noooo. One of my favourite spots 😢😢,” shared a third.

Daan Go’s final day of operation in B.C. will be Oct. 25.
Folks with gift cards are encouraged to visit before the store closes, or to contact the team if that isn’t possible. All in-store items on its final day will be 20 per cent off.
