Costco Canada offering full refunds in latest recall over potential Listeria
Costco Canada has issued a new food recall, and shoppers may want to double-check their fridges to see if they have the affected products.
On Tuesday, Costco Canada issued a statement notifying customers that it’s recalling two separate cheese products “due to the potential presence of Listeria.”
The affected products are:
- 600g Cheese Curds from Laiterie Coaticook with a best before date of Aug. 7, 2026
- 640g Cheddar Cheese Block from Laiterie Coaticook with a best before date of Oct. 22, 2026

Shoppers who recently purchased the products should check the packaging to see whether the lot codes 1924785 or 1924804 are listed.
“Do not consume, serve, use, sell, or distribute recalled products,” the notice reads. “Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased.”
While foods contaminated with Listeria may not look spoiled or smell bad, Costco Canada says it can still make consumers sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, headaches, and muscle aches. Pregnant women, seniors, and immunocompromised individuals are the most at risk.
Shoppers who have any of the impacted Laiterie Coaticook cheese products can take them back to a Costco warehouse to receive a full refund. For more information, customers can contact Lactalis Canada at 1-800-846-7224 or email serviceclient@laiteriedecoaticook.com.
Earlier this week, Costco Canada also announced a recall of a specific bag of Alfa Croissants “due to the potential presence of mould.” However, the notice did not specify whether customers are eligible for a refund.
