Costco's first Metro Vancouver Business Centre reveals fall opening date
Metro Vancouver’s first Costco Business Centre will soon be opening its doors to the public, and eager shoppers are ready to hunt for deals.
As first reported by Daily Hive earlier this spring, the region’s first Costco Business Centre is planned for New Westminster’s Queensborough district at 1085 Tanaka Crt.
Canadian TikToker Andy Shen posted photos on Thanksgiving of a sign and a flyer that reveal it will open on Friday, Nov. 14.

“The Business Centre is a bit different,” explained Shen to his 66,000 followers on Facebook. “There’s no food court, no optical, no pharmacy, no clothing, but you can get 50 lbs of potatoes, 20 lbs of tomatoes, five gallons of dishwasher detergent, and more!”
Costco Business Centres cater specifically to business customers with bulk and specialized products, in contrast to the more common Costco warehouses, which are primarily tailored for everyday shoppers.
However, the flyer for the new location indicates that shoppers can pick up staples such as black forest ham, butter chicken sauce, and Coca-Cola made in Mexico.
The site of the future Costco Business Centre spans about 13 acres, situated immediately east of Value Village and Starlight Casino, and just southwest of Queensborough Landing Outlet Mall.

Application files provided by the City to Daily Hive Urbanized through a Freedom of Information request indicate the Costco Business Centre concept will fully retain and repurpose the existing former Lowe’s building, with the removal of the Garden Centre’s roofing and other minor exterior modifications. This Costco location will span a floor area of about 142,400 sq. ft.
The existing parking lot will be reconfigured by increasing the width of the parking stalls from 9 feet to 10 feet. This will reduce the number of parking stalls from 587 to 522.

Costco Wholesale also has major plans to add at least two more store locations in Metro Vancouver.
Currently, there are 14 Costco locations across British Columbia, including seven locations within Metro Vancouver.
