Two schools in Surrey have been identified after confirmed exposures to COVID-19.

District Superintendent Jordan Tinney tweeted the news on Saturday, saying that the two affected schools were Tamanawis Secondary School and Panorama Ridge Secondary School.

The case at Tamanawis Secondary School was in attendance from September 14 to 17.

For Panorama Ridge, the individual was in attendance on September 10. This is the second known exposure to coronavirus at the school, with an earlier exposure on September 8.

During the first exposure, however, there were no students on-site at the school and Tinney notes that the second “contact is not linked to the first.”

Parents at both schools were notified on Saturday night and public health staff have initiated contact tracing.

“Thanks again Fraser Health for all your work and collaboration,” Tinney tweeted.

Earlier this week, coronavirus exposures were identified at four schools in Surrey, including two elementary schools and two secondary schools.
