BC health officials report 32 new coronavirus cases

BC health officials have confirmed 32 new coronavirus cases in the province since Friday, along with one additional death related to the virus.

During a press conference on Monday, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said these 36 new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the province to 2,822.

Henry said this equals 10 new cases between Friday and Saturday, six new cases between Saturday and Sunday, and 16 new cases between Sunday and Monday.

By specific health region, Henry said this equates to 954 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,474 in Fraser Health, 131 on Vancouver Island, 198 in Interior Health, and 65 in Northern Health.

There have also been no long-term care or community outbreaks, and the number of active cases currently totals 182, with 14 of those cases in hospitals and six of those in ICU.

A total of 2,471 cases are now considered fully recovered in the province.
