BC health officials report 11 new coronavirus cases

British Columbia health officials announced 11 new test-positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the province to 2,756.

In a press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reported there are 172 known active cases of coronavirus in the province, and 2,416 people who tested positive have recovered.

Of the total COVID-19 cases in BC, 11 individuals are hospitalized, five of whom are in intensive care.

Henry said that broken down by health region, there are 940 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,426 in Fraser Health, 130 on Vancouver Island, 195 in Interior Health, and 65 in Northern Health.

Henry also confirmed there is one new outbreak at the Maple Hill care home in Langley.
