BC health officials have confirmed 36 new coronavirus cases in the province since Friday but noted there hasn’t been a single death related to the virus in the same time period.

During a press conference on Monday, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said these 36 new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the province to 2,745.

This equals 14 new cases between Friday and Saturday, 16 new cases between Saturday and Sunday, and six new cases between yesterday and today.

Broken down by health region, Henry said this equates to 934 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,420 in Fraser Health, 130 on Vancouver Island, 195 in Interior Health, and 66 in Northern Health.

There have also been no long-term care or community outbreaks, and the outbreak at South Granville Park Lodge has now been declared over.

The number of active cases currently totals 182, with 14 of those cases in hospitals and four of those in ICU.

A total of 2,395 cases are now considered fully recovered in the province.
