BC reports no new coronavirus-related deaths for sixth straight day

BC health officials confirmed 14 new coronavirus cases in the province on Thursday but noted that for the sixth day in a row, there have been no new deaths in connection with the virus.

During a press conference on Thursday, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said that the 14 new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the province to 2,694.

Broken down by health region, Henry said this equates to 917 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,386 in Fraser Health, 130 on Vancouver Island, 195 in Interior Health, and 66 in Northern Health.

The number of active cases currently totals 183, with 13 of those cases in hospitals and five of those in ICU.

A total of 2,344 cases are now considered fully recovered in the province, and there have been 167 deaths in British Columbia.
