BC reports 24 new coronavirus cases since Saturday

BC health officials have announced 24 new test-positive cases of COVID-19, and one more death.

During a press conference on Monday, BC Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced that these new numbers include nine new cases discovered between Saturday and Sunday and 15 new cases between Sunday and Monday.

The total number of recorded cases in the province now sits at 2,597.

Broken down by health region, Henry said there are 904 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,307 in Fraser Health, 127 on Vancouver Island, 195 in Interior Health, and 64 in Northern Health.

The total number of active cases currently totals 224, with 32 of those cases in hospitals, and five of those in ICU.

A total of 2,207 cases are now considered fully recovered.
