BC health officials report 29 new coronavirus cases

BC health officials confirmed 29 new coronavirus cases in the province on Thursday

During a press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix  said the 29 new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the province to 3,591.

By specific health region, the statement said this equates to 1,076 cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 1,865 in the Fraser Health region, 143 in the Island Health region, 360 in the Interior Health region, 86 in the Northern Health region and 61 cases of people who reside outside of Canada.

There have also been no long-term care or community outbreaks, and the number of active cases currently totals 242. Of the total COVID-19 cases, five individuals are hospitalized, two of whom are in intensive care. The remaining people with COVID-19 are recovering at home in self-isolation.

There have been no new COVID-19 related deaths, maintaining the number of deaths in the province as a result of the virus at 194.

Of the total number of recorded cases in the province, a total of 3,155 are now considered fully recovered.
