BC health officials report 28 new coronavirus cases on Friday

BC health officials confirmed 28 new coronavirus cases in the province on Friday. No new deaths were recorded.

During a press conference, Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said these new cases bring the total number of recorded cases in the province to 3,198.

By specific health region, Henry said this equates to 1,032 known cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,676 in Fraser Health, 136 on Vancouver Island, 235 in Interior Health, 68 in Northern Health, and 51 identified as being from outside of Canada.

The number of active cases currently totals 207, with 18 of those cases in hospitals and two of those in ICU.

A total of 2,802 cases are now considered fully recovered in the province.
