21-year-old Richmond man shot in Coquitlam Tuesday night

A 21-year-old Richmond man is recovering in the hospital, after a shooting in Coquitlam on Tuesday night.

Police said the incident took place around 11:20 pm, when officers were called to the corner of Foster Avenue and Aspen Street for reports of gunshots.

According to witness reports, two cars were seen “speeding away” from the scene.

Shortly afterwards, the victim checked himself into the hospital, with a gun wound described as non-life threatening.

At this point, investigators are still looking for suspects, but they noted the victim – as well as some witnesses to the incident – have been “less than fully cooperative” with police.
