CIBC customers currently trying to access their online accounts this afternoon are finding it impossible to do so.
On Twitter, CIBC confirmed there is a service outage currently taking place. However, the bank has yet to provide any further details as to the cause, or when people can expect services to be fully restored.
We are currently experiencing a technical issue affecting some of the ways our clients bank with us. We are working hard to restore full service, and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. Clients can continue to transact at ATMs and at point of sale.

The company said customers still have access to their accounts via ATM transactions and at point-of-sale machines.
Hi, Kimberley. I certainly understand your concerns and frustrations. Our Technology Team is aware of the issue and are working hard to restore full service. In the meantime, clients can continue to transact at ATMs and at point of sale. We apologize for any inconvenience. ^Rahul

However, some customers disputed this information.
Unfortunately, branch services are also not available, so I can't effect my contractually obligated quarterly transfers to my foreign clients. I'll be sure to name your bank, repeatedly, while I attempt to explain that a major Canadian Bank simply didn't offer any service today.
