Please note: As recommended by BC’s health officials, indoor gatherings of any kind and unessential travel in the province are not recommended at this time. Currently, outdoor gatherings of up to 10 people are permitted, but use COVID-19 layers of protection and maintain physical distancing. Please adhere to COVID-19 health and safety measures, including proper physical distancing and frequent hand washing, and wearing a mask or face-covering in public indoor and retail spaces. If you are sick, please stay home.

One of the Fraser Valley’s most stunning attractions returns this year, but is asking that only local residents attend at this time.

Chilliwack Tulips, commonly known as Tulips of the Valley, will be reopening on Sunday, April 11. The popular attraction first launched in 2006 and showcases millions of tulip bulbs blooming every year.

Visitors can find more than 20 acres with over 25 tulip varieties, 16 types of double daffodils, and 10 varieties of hyacinths. In addition to photo-op props throughout the grounds, there are plenty of potted tulips, dahlia tubers, and other flowers that can be purchased to take home.

Organizers add that this year, they’re returning with a number of health and safety protocols in place.

“Due to the current provincial travel advisory, the Tulips team is encouraging only residents of the Fraser Valley [to] visit the fields at this time,” Chilliwack tulips says.

Other measures include limiting the capacity of tulip fields to 25%, setting up hand-sanitizing stations around the venue, sanitizing high-touch areas throughout the day, and implementing a mandatory mask policy.

“Masks are mandatory in all areas of the grounds at all times,” organizers say. “However, they may be removed briefly for photos so long as social distancing can be maintained.”

Tickets will only be sold online in one-hour blocks a week in advance. Chilliwack Tulips will run every day from April 11 onwards for approximately three to four weeks.
