Vancouver Coastal Health has added more dates for coronavirus exposure at an East Vancouver high school, suggesting someone else showed up to school while contagious.

Sir Charles Tupper Secondary’s dates for coronavirus exposure risk now include October 7 and 9 in addition to September 30 to October 2.

The health authority initially reported the confirmed case at Sir Charles Tupper last week. The high school serves about 1,000 students and is located near King Edward Avenue and Fraser Street.

VCH also added a Vancouver elementary school to its list of coronavirus exposures. Someone tested positive from Lord Kitchener Elementary School’s community recently. The health authority says there was a risk of exposure at the school on October 5 and 7.

Contact tracers work to call close contacts of the infected individuals directly, but VCH notifies the public of confirmed cases at school so everyone in the community can watch for symptoms.
