Center of Gravity, Canada's Hottest Beach Festival

Have you ever wondered how the sky-high obstacle course FMX, BMX, and Freestyle Mountain Bikers fly over at Center of Gravity (COG) is created? Visionary powerhouses WetApe Productions and BigSteelBox joined forces to create a venue like no other making for killer photo-ops and heart-stopping action the entire August long weekend.

Touted as “Canada’s Hottest Beach Festival,” COG runs Aug 2-4 in Kelowna and has some of the biggest acts in electro music and the world’s best in sports in 7 categories: Beach Volleyball, Basketball, Freestyle Mountain Biking, Wakeboarding, FMX, Skateboarding, and BMX making this the ultimate August long weekend destination.

With locations across the Okanagan, BigSteelBox is a major supporter of local events and loves to show off the unique ways their boxes can be used – such as the basis for a high-flying jump course at COG. Adrenaline junkies in Freestyle Mountain Biking, FMX, and BMX will compete in the Dirt and Water Zones on urban and industrial themed courses built from BigSteelBox containers. These massive storage containers, combined with the beautiful Okanagan Lake, make for quite the backdrop to some very extreme sports competitions.

“We pride ourselves on being innovative, both in the products we produce and how we market them,” says Bob Anderson, marketing director for BigSteelBox. “By participating in events such as Kelowna’s Center of Gravity music festival, we are able to demonstrate the multi-functionality of our containers in a fun and different way, while also contributing to the local communities that foster our continued growth.”

Just another example of how companies are getting creative –  and cool – with their marketing. Now bust out your bathing suits, kick off your shoes, and get up to Kelowna for August long weekend – it’ll be the most fun you’ll have under the sun all summer.
