Police are asking for the public’s help after what they’re calling a “brazen daylight robbery.”

On Tuesday evening, just before 6:30 pm, University RCMP received a report that a car had been stolen at gunpoint.

According to a police statement, the victim was returning to her vehicle, which was parked on the 10th floor of the West Parkade at UBC, located at 2140 Lower Mall.

The woman was allegedly approached by two suspects. One was carrying a small handgun and demanded her keys. She complied, gave the keys, and the suspects fled in the vehicle.

Police say that she was not injured.

The stolen vehicle is described as a grey, 2007 Kia Spectra with the BC license plate 308 PSG.

The first suspect is described as a male, possibly South Asian, standing at 6’0″ tall with a slim build. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a grey hoody with the hood up and black jogging pants, carrying a palm-sized handgun.

The second suspect is also a male of unknown ethnicity. He was wearing a dark long-sleeve shirt and pants.

Police say that anyone who sees the vehicle should refrain from approaching and call 9-1-1 instead.
