Car Free Day Vancouver 2014 Guide: Main Street, Commercial Drive, West End, Kitsilano

Dec 19 2017, 6:32 pm

Car Free Day Vancouver will make its return at neighbourhoods across the city of Vancouver on June 15, 2014, coinciding with Father’s Day.

This will be the sixth year the multi-neighbourhood event has been held on an annual basis. It closes down extensive lengths of car-heavy arterial streets and turns them into hip-happening, car-free community parties with food, music, performances and much more.

Ever since its inaugural year, the festival attracts hundreds of thousands of people into city streets. This year’s event will again take place at four major areas: Commercial Drive, Main Street, West End, and the block parties in Kitsilano.

However, while many of the city’s events require corporate backing, Car Free Vancouver is a grassroots event and has no sponsors – it requires the support of everyday Vancouverites. For more information on how to donate, get involved or volunteer, click here.
