The university said that as of August, it will take occupancy of the second floor of 125 Victory Ship Way, to deliver educational programs and services, beginning in the Fall 2019 term.

Capilano University President Paul Dangerfield said the new campus, dubbed CapU Lonsdale, represents “an exceptional opportunity” to broaden the school’s outreach and community contributions, strengthen local connections and “provide a strong selection of our programming in a central location on the North Shore.”

Designed by DIALOG, and featuring 15-foot-high ceilings and a 60-foot-long balcony, CapU Lonsdale will “reflect Capilano University’s relationship to the West Coast,” the university said.

The university noted that the location of the new campus – near Lonsdale Quay and the Seabus terminal – makes it “an ideal learning location for both commuting students and residents of the North Shore.”

Capilano University’s Continuing Studies and Executive Education will be relocated to the new branch campus and all five of Capilano University’s faculties will offer select courses or programs at the branch campus, as well.

By expanding to The Shipyards, Capilano University said its main North Shore campus on Purcell Way will have additional capacity for planned new programs and services to extend options and opportunities.
