The Canucks are bringing training camp and a game to Vancouver Island this September, as the team announced preseason plans on Tuesday.

Training camp will be held at the 7,400-seat Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria from September 13 to 15. All practices will be open to the public for a $5 admission fee, with net proceeds after operational costs to be donated to charity.

The Canucks revealed an eight-game preseason schedule, highlighted by a pair of neutral site games to be held in Victoria and Abbotsford. Both games continue a commitment by the team to play preseason games elsewhere in British Columbia. The Canucks held a preseason game in Kelowna last year.

The team will kick off the preseason with a game against the Calgary Flames at theĀ Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre in Victoria. It’s a split-squad game, as both teams are also playing in Calgary the same evening, but expect the Canucks to dress a representative lineup that evening.

The Fraser Valley will also get to host a preseason game this year, as the Canucks play the Ottawa Senators in the 7,000-seat Abbotsford Centre on September 23.

Tickets for training camp practices, as well as the Victoria and Abbotsford games will go on sale to the general public beginning August 7.

As was previously announced, for the second year in a row, the Canucks will travel to Salt Lake City to play the Los Angeles Kings, on September 21.

Rogers Arena will host three games this preseason, with the Oilers, Senators, and Coyotes making visits to Vancouver.
