Vancouver Canucks trade Pepsi for Coke at Rogers Arena

The Vancouver Canucks made a big offseason trade after all.

Pepsi is out, as Coca-Cola products have returned to Rogers Arena for the first time since 2011. The team has yet to make an official announcement about the switch, but concession stands were fully stocked with Coke products during the preseason. PepsiCo Canada previously had exclusive beverage and snack supplier status at the home of the Canucks.

The move affects more than just Coca-Cola and Pepsi soft drinks. Rather than Gatorade, Powerade is available, for instance. And instead of Aquafina water, you can purchase Dasani.

The list of bottled drinks we spotted includes: Coca-Cola Classic, Coke Zero, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta Orange, Barq’s Root Beer, Fuze Iced Tea Lemon, Powerade, Vitamin Water, Canada Dry Ginger Ale, Canada Dry Ginger Ale Zero, Dasani, and Smart Water.

Note that Canada Dry is actually owned by Keurig Dr Pepper, but is bottled and distributed by Coke Canada.

Soft drinks cost $7.50 plus tax at Rogers Arena for 500 mL bottles, while Dasani is $6.25, Powerade and Vitamin Water cost $8.50, and Smart Water will set you back $9.

These prices pale in comparison to beer prices at Canucks games, but like at most stadiums, they are still considerably marked up.

There is, however, a free option to quench your thirst.

Rogers Arena permits fans to bring in empty plastic water bottles for Canucks games, with drinking fountains located outside sections 102, 110, 113, and 306.
