Two more Vancouver Canucks prospects have put pen to paper on their first-ever NHL contracts.

Canucks GM Patrik Allvin announced on Monday that a pair of recent draft picks have signed three-year, entry-level deals. Signed to new deals are 19-year-old centre Riley Patterson, who the Canucks drafted in the fourth round in 2024, and 19-year-old right winger Gabriel Chiarot, who Vancouver picked up in the sixth round of the 2025 draft.

It appears both players impressed management at recent prospects games against the Seattle Kraken, as well as training camp in Penticton.

“Over the past couple of weeks, we have been impressed by a number of our young players at both the showcase in Seattle and at Training Camp in Penticton,” said Allvin. “We are happy to sign two of them, Riley Patterson and Gabriel Chiarot. Riley is a right-shot centre prospect who has made strides working with our development group the past couple years, while Gabriel has good drive, work ethic, and tenacity, and also has a nose for the net.”

Patterson scored 59 points (25-34-59) in 64 games with the OHL’s Barrie Colts last season. The Burlington, Ont. native is listed at 6-foot-0 and 192 pounds.

Listed at 5-foot-11 and 191 pounds, Chiarot scored 35 points (21-14-35) in 66 games with the OHL’s Brampton Steelheads last season. The Hamilton native, who just turned 19, celebrated his birthday five days ago.

The Canucks have now locked up four players from the past two drafts in recent months, signing 2025 first-round pick Braeden Cootes and 2025 second-rounder Aleksei Medvedev in July.
