We have a return date for the Vancouver Canucks, for real this time.
The NHL has announced date changes for 13 North Division games, including 10 of the Canucks’ final 19 games.
The Canucks will now return Sunday, at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Their season has been extended by three days, with the finale against the Calgary Flames set for May 19. That means there’s probably a good chance the Stanley Cup playoffs will begin before the Canucks are finished the regular season, as every team south of the border will wrap up the regular season by May 12.
Instead of playing 19 games in 31 days, the Canucks will now play their remaining games in 32 days. Despite that minuscule change, the schedule does look more manageable to start while players struggle to get in game shape, with no back-to-back games scheduled until April 28.
