The deadline has come and gone, and Oliver Ekman-Larsson is staying put.
The Arizona Coyotes were looking to offload the high-profile defenceman, but Ekman-Larsson had a no-movement clause and only provided two teams that he was willing to go to: the Vancouver Canucks and the Boston Bruins.
According to a report from TSN’s Farhan Lalji, Ekman-Larsson won’t be moved.
Being told it’s over on an OEL trade. #Canucks @TSN1040 @TSNHockey

The Coyotes were rumoured to be looking for one of the Canucks’ top prospects to be included in the deal, and it appears that was a non-starter for GM Jim Benning.
The Canucks are in a precarious position, with all of their unrestricted free agents now available on the open market, including Jacob Markstrom, Tyler Toffoli, Chris Tanev, and Troy Stecher.
