It looks like Adam Foote has found a new home.

Fired by the Vancouver Canucks last month, Foote is reportedly in talks to join the Utah Mammoth as an assistant coach. While nothing has been finalized yet, CHEK’s Rick Dhaliwal is reporting that “they’re trying to get a deal done.”

“I’ve been told this morning to keep an eye on Utah hiring Adam Foote as an assistant coach,” Dhaliwal said on Monday’s edition of Donnie and Dhali. “There is interest in Foote from the Mammoth, and I do believe they’re trying to get a deal done.”

Foote had success as Rick Tocchet’s assistant coach in Vancouver for two and a half seasons before getting promoted to head coach last year.

Former Canucks general manager Patrik Allvin, who was also let go by the team this offseason, was hired by the Seattle Kraken last week. Allvin also had to accept a demotion, as he was named an assistant general manager.

Jim Rutherford, meanwhile, is still a Canucks employee, despite stepping down as president of hockey operations. He’s listed as a senior advisor on the Canucks website.
