Think you’re going stir crazy in the cold weather? You’re not alone. These Canadians are coping with the frigid -50 temperatures by recording a parody video to Toto’s “Africa”.
Inspired by the current cold snap gripping the country, Manitobans Robert Thiessen and family members Jody and Joe Kaonga swapped out the original lyrics from the 1982 tune for a commentary on Canada’s current weather woes.
“I froze my brain up in Canada” repeats the catchy chorus in between verses about late-night Timmy’s coffee runs, frozen plumbing, and true facts like it’s “colder here than in the South, or even, North Pole.”
The video posted to Facebook on Saturday, December 30 has already amassed more than 130,000 views.
It’s almost enough to warm our hearts… just not our fingers or toes.
Stay warm, Canada!
